Ziebart, a global leader in premium automotive appearance and protection services, has recently announced that it has entered into an agreement with Christopher King, a multi-unit and multi-brand franchise operator, to establish three new Ziebart locations in the greater Houston metropolitan area over the next five years. King brings a wealth of experience in management, having worked for Fortune 500 companies for 20 years, and has a strong background in both the automotive and franchise sectors. Prior to his current involvement, King was a Chevron Corporation employee for more than a decade. Since 2017, he has invested in and managed two Dogtopia franchises in the Houston market. King is enthusiastic about expanding his franchise portfolio with the addition of Ziebart and intends to apply his love of cars and expertise in managing multi-unit franchise operations to his latest venture. The first Ziebart location will be situated within the Houston metropolitan area.
Ziebart, with a history of nearly 65 years, is the industry leader in rust protection, detailing, window tinting, and more, with over 400 locations and 1,300 service centers in 37 countries. Though Ziebart already has existing locations in Corpus Christi and Lewisville, the upcoming franchise locations in the greater Houston metropolitan area will be the first of their kind in the area. Christopher King, the multi-unit and multi-brand franchise operator behind this development, plans to utilize competitive marketing techniques to boost brand recognition and drive success in the Houston market. King has prior experience in breaking into new markets with his franchise operation Dogtopia and aims to apply his expertise in the automotive industry as well.
King believes that the Houston community’s love for their pets and vehicles is synonymous, stating that they give the same level of love and care to both. He plans to leverage this passion by offering complete vehicle protection solutions through Ziebart to Houstonians. King’s stepson, Anthony, will be serving as the general manager in charge of daily operations for the business.
Ziebart International Corporation’s CEO, Thomas A. Wolfe, sees King as the ideal operator for expanding the brand’s footprint domestically and internationally. As demand for automotive aftercare services continues to grow, Ziebart seeks to focus on awarding agreements to experienced multi-unit operators who can help expand the brand in markets with growth potential. Wolfe looks forward to partnering with operators like King to bring complete vehicle protection solutions to communities across the globe.
Ziebart opened five new locations in 2020, including Highland, Michigan; Triadelphia, West Virginia; Fort Myers, Florida; Auburn, Massachusetts; and Hamburg, New York, with six additional locations set to open early in 2021, all backed by owners and multi-unit owners in the Ziebart family. The brand also signed new franchise agreements in nine additional countries, including The Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Greece, expanding its global presence.
