Stacey & Maurice Pugh Opens 1100th Tropical Smoothie Cafe in NC

Midway through 2022, Tropical Smoothie Cafe fast-casual brand, will open its 1100th location. A successful restaurant opening strategy, which has resulted in 100 new locations in the last nine months, fuels the wave of expansion. Tropicana smoothie cafe has opened 42 stores so far this year. This will be the company’s 1,100th cafe, owned and operated by Stacey and Maurice Pugh, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a leading fast-casual concept in the United States, had 13 locations open in the Charlotte market and 58 across the state before this 1100th Tropical Smoothie Cafe in North Carolina. Riverbend Village, Charlotte’s newest mixed-use living, office, and shopping destination will open its doors to the public on June 3 for the grand opening of a new cafe.

They bring a wide range of professional experience and decades of community and philanthropic involvement to their new Tropical Smoothie location, Stacey, Maurice, and their two children, Ayanni and Makiri. After a long career in program management and contract support, the couple turned to a franchise for their next business venture. They quickly became aware of the brand’s impressive business model, steady growth, and repeat customers, making the concept an ideal investment.

Because of Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s steady growth and adaptable business model, Stacey said she and her husband decided to start their own business. The brand’s new national partnership with No Kid Hungry and the support center’s hands-on approach, which helped set us up for success with our first location, align perfectly with their family values. Having opened the brand’s 1,100th cafe, they are excited about the prospect of further growth with Tropical Smoothie.

Beginning on Friday, June 3 and continuing through the entire weekend, the family will celebrate their grand opening. Commemorative T-shirts, photos, and even an on-site DJ will be part of this event’s festivities. No Kid Hungry’s local chapter in the Pugh family’s hometown will receive a check for their grand opening celebrations. Charles Watson, CEO of Tropical Smoothie Cafe, intends to increase this donation personally. The Pugh family’s charitable endeavors will begin here, a goal they hold both personally and professionally.

Pugh’s Riverbend Village Tropical Smoothie Cafe will offer special deals during the opening weekend, including $1.99 smoothies all day on June 3, a 50 FSFY giveaway, prizes, and $2.99 flatbread deals on June 4, and a $5.99 smoothie and flatbread combo deal on June 5.
