Local businesses will benefit from the combined expertise of two established printing companies as Minuteman Press and Printech announce their merger. The move brings over 60 years of experience under one roof, strengthening printing services in the Flemington area.
Minuteman Press, owned by Jason Jacobus, and Printech, owned by Joe Mastrull, will operate as Minuteman Press, Flemington. The business will remain at its current location on 149 NJ-31.
This strategic partnership offers several advantages to both companies’ customer bases. Printech customers can expect a seamless transition with Joe Mastrull and graphic designer Kathy Kilgore joining the Minuteman Press team. They will continue to receive high-quality products and services, with the added benefit of Minuteman Press’ wider range of offerings.
“Merging with Printech was the logical next step for our business growth,” said Jason Jacobus. “Bringing Joe and Kathy on board ensures a smooth transition for both customer service and pricing. Printech customers can look forward to our expanded in-house wide format printing and signage capabilities, as well as access to preferred vendor pricing on promotional products through the Minuteman Press franchise network.”
For Printech, the merger provides a robust succession plan for their clients. “Our top priority was finding a partner who could deliver the same exceptional customer service, quality control, resources, and competitive pricing our clients have come to expect,” explained Joe Mastrull. “Jason’s extensive industry experience, along with his established team, guarantees continuity and expertise for our clients.”
Both companies boast rich histories in the Flemington printing scene. Established in 1987, Printech has evolved from a small copy shop to a provider of high-end offset printing, digital printing, and mailing services. They were among the first in the county to adopt cutting-edge technology like the Apple Macintosh desktop computer in 1991.
“We’ve always taken pride in having a talented graphic designer on staff, which has been a key differentiator for us,” Joe added.
Jason’s printing journey began a few years after Printech opened its doors. With over 30 years of experience in both offset and digital printing, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.
“I practically grew up in the printing world,” Jason shared. “From running my first offset press at 15 to working in prepress for major magazines in the early 1990s, I’ve seen the industry evolve significantly. For the past 12 years, I’ve been proud to be the owner and operator of Minuteman Press in Flemington.”
Minuteman Press Regional VP Jim Galasso played a key role in facilitating the merger. “Jim first connected me with Joe in 2016,” explained Joe. “We stayed in touch, and when the timing was right, Jim helped us initiate discussions and ultimately reach this agreement.”
Jason echoed Joe’s appreciation, stating, “I approached Jim a few years ago about a potential merger, but the timing wasn’t ideal then. I’m thrilled that we’ve come together now to offer the best possible service and quality to both Printech and Minuteman Press clients.”
