Kentucky Fried Chicken® with long-time partner Blessings In A Backpack to provide about 70,000 finger lickin’ good meals to families in need. Keeping in holy spirits, KFC commits to good deeds through a charitable food truck, Sharemobile. The Sharemobile Tour would reach three cities Chicago, Orlando, and Houston.
The KFC Sharemobile has commenced the tour to the designated cities and serving from the 5th of December. The campaign was planned to keep in view the recently affected areas with hardships due to recent dire events. These areas are affected by food insecurity and other major challenges that are compelling families to skip the holiday season’s celebrations.
The KFC Sharemobile aims to cater to three major cities- Chicago, Orlando, and Houston.
Chicago, the Windy City, has been affected at its worst since the recent pandemic. The major concerns are food security and the fact that families are struggling to get three meals a day.
Further, the entirety of Florida was hit by devastating hurricanes this year. Many families have been displaced due to the course of events. KFC’s food drive will be carried out in an elementary school in Orlando to provide meals.
The Sharemobile Tour will prepare to end after serving the families in Houston. The pandemic, busy hurricane season, and uncalled-for winter storm have put people in distress. To lighten their burden at least for a meal is what KFC aims at.
Nick Chavez, CMO, of KFC U.S. said, “Sharing a meal with family or friends is a special part of the holidays.” He also added, “Alongside our franchisees, we wanted to make that possible for even more families this holiday season. Together with Blessings in a Backpack, we’re taking the Sharemobile on the road to do just that!”
KFC has partnered with Blessings In A Backpack on multiple occasions since 2017. The franchise has also donated nearly one million dollars to the nonprofit organization in the recent past. KFC’s philanthropy engagements are commendable.
