In a move to bolster the nation’s ability to weather the storms, both literal and metaphorical, PuroClean, a leading property restoration company, has announced a groundbreaking initiative: The “Partnership for a Resilient America.” This collaborative effort, launched in July 2024, aims to train 1,000 skilled workers to tackle disaster recovery head-on, specifically focusing on the upcoming hurricane seasons.

The initiative isn’t happening in isolation. PuroClean has joined forces with Resilience Force, a non-profit dedicated to building a skilled workforce for disaster response, and Signal Restoration, PuroClean’s sister company. This powerful trio brings a wealth of expertise to the table: PuroClean’s experience in restoration, Resilience Force’s focus on training, and Signal Restoration’s understanding of the industry.

The training program will occur at PuroClean’s state-of-the-art facility in Tamarac, Florida. Here, aspiring “climate resilience technicians” will gain the knowledge and skills needed to address the aftermath of natural disasters. The program culminates in a coveted certification, making graduates highly sought-after professionals in a field with growing demand. Resilience Force goes the extra mile by assisting graduates in securing employment, ensuring their valuable skills are put to good use.

This initiative is driven by a deep understanding of our communities’ challenges. Mark W. Davis, Chairman and CEO of PuroClean, emphasizes the importance of a “resilient workforce” for a future marked by increasingly frequent and severe weather events. He believes this program will equip communities with the expertise needed to “rebuild and recover swiftly and effectively” from disasters.

Acting U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Julie Su echoes the need for such a program. She underlines the critical role well-trained disaster recovery workers play in rebuilding communities. Su highlighted the Department of Labor’s commitment to supporting this vital work, acknowledging the increasing frequency of extreme weather events due to climate change.

“Partnership for a Resilient America” reflects more than just disaster preparedness; it’s a testament to PuroClean’s commitment to social responsibility. Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean emphasizes the company’s dedication to “supporting and rebuilding communities facing climate challenges.” The collaboration with Resilience Force and Signal Restoration further strengthens this commitment by providing essential training and resources to those on the frontlines of disaster recovery.

PuroClean isn’t new to helping communities rebuild. For over two decades, they’ve been a trusted partner for homeowners and businesses facing the aftermath of disasters. Their extensive network of nearly 500 North American franchise locations ensures a rapid response when disaster strikes.

This new initiative marks a significant step forward in fortifying our communities against the relentless forces of nature. By investing in skilled disaster recovery professionals, “Partnership for a Resilient America” paves the way for a future where communities can rebuild stronger and faster, no matter the storm they face.
