She initially served as a Licensing Associate in Licensing Acquisitions, overseeing the royalty-free inbound licensing portfolio for the vehicles business and supporting senior management in acquiring and negotiating key licenses for Hot Wheels, Barbie, Dolls, and Games. Rising Through the Ranks at Mattel
Megan’s capabilities quickly became evident, leading to her promotion to Associate Manager of Licensing Acquisitions in 2009. Over the next four years, she managed the acquisition, mediation, and supervision of licensed portfolios for Barbie, Games, and the vehicle businesses. Her strategic insights and negotiation skills were crucial in securing valuable partnerships and expanding Mattel’s brand portfolio.
In 2013, Megan was promoted to Manager, Licensing Acquisitions. She led the procurement and oversight of licensed portfolios for Barbie, Games, talent, and tech innovation brands. Her innovative approach and keen market understanding enabled Mattel to enhance its product offerings and maintain its competitive edge.
By 2017, Megan had ascended to the role of Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Global Licensing. For the next four years, she oversaw the acquisition, negotiation, and daily management of licensed properties for Mattel’s power brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Mega, Fisher-Price, American Girl, and UNO. Expanding Horizons with Instant Brands and Beyond
In 2021, Megan transitioned to Instant Brands as a Director Licensing Acquisitions Consultant. In this capacity, she managed licensed and strategic partnerships across the Instant Brand portfolio, which includes renowned names like Pyrex, Snapware, Corelle, and Instant Pot. Her expertise in licensing and brand strategy was pivotal in broadening Instant Brands’ market reach and enhancing its brand value.
Following her success with Instant Brands, Megan took on a role as a Business Development Consultant at Wind Sun Sky Entertainment/Skybound North Entertainment. From 2021 to 2022, she sourced new creator-driven content for development across multiple platforms and crafted a strategic vision for a new platform of live interactive animated theater. This role highlighted her ability to innovate and adapt to emerging trends in entertainment and media.
Leadership at Wizards of the Coast
Since 2022, Megan has been serving as the Senior Business Development Manager, Global Brand Strategy and Marketing at Wizards of the Coast. In this role, she leads the co-brand partnership strategy and execution for Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond sub-brand and the direct-to-consumer native product line, Secret Lair Drop Series. Her strategic vision and execution skills have been crucial in expanding the brand’s footprint and engaging a diverse audience.
